State of Maine 2010 BGC Youth of the Year CONGRATS!!!!! BGCGG's 2010 YOUTH OF THE YEAR
After being placed in foster care and moved from her home, family, school, and friends, Julie-Anna was eventually adopted and relocated to South Gardiner. During this transition, Julie-Anna and her parents used The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Gardiner as a place for her to make new friends, become involved in activities, and feel comfortable in her new, unfamiliar surroundings. Since then, she has become a pivotal member of both her school and Club, serving as President of the Keystone Club, Junior Class homeroom representative, and this year’s Lights on Afterschool Youth of the Year, all while maintaining High Honor Roll status.
